If you use or have considered using run power technology to take the next step in your training, Today’s Plan has supplanted itself as the most comprehensive platform for tracking, predicting and analysing run power data on the planet!
Here’s some of the common metrics athletes can see within the Activity Viewer:
- Run Power

- Stride rate (steps per minute, spm)
- Power Efficiency (%)

Athletes and coaches can view these metrics within each workout, to see how successful the workout was. But of course, the larger the sample size, the more insight which can be gained. This is where the Running Power Dashboard can be extremely effective, as it provides comparison of data from many workouts, over many days, weeks, months, and even different seasons.
Once in the Dashboard, simply select which dashboard profile in the top left, and if you use run power data, you can find numerous insights you can’t find on any other platform in the world. And if you coach athletes, you can even customise your platform to focus and highlight those who use run power data.
The following images help show how to find and use your Running Power Dashboard. I’ve highlighted a few ways I use the dashboard in coaching Ben Kanute, Ironman 70.3 World Championships runner-up, and 2016 Olympic Triathlete. Only a few of the charts and graphs are shared here, but this should give you a good start to see how you can begin to dive further into it, expanding or dialling in more, customising further. Start digging deeper and you’ll see many more ways you can examine and analyse run power data for your training, or your athletes.
You can even compare different specific metrics you value, from season to season, or phase to phase within the same season, or even compare custom time frames, like the months leading into your best race ever with how your current training is going.
If you use run power, you likely know that leg spring stiffness, (LSS), is one of the key metrics to give insight into run performance and training gains. The Running Power Dashboard has a peak LSS duration curve, normalised to body mass. This is a very valuable chart for those seeking deeper insight beyond pace and HR.
